Why Support the UN World Food Program in Sri Lanka?

Aidforlanka.org (TM) is an entity created to encourage donations to the UN World Food Program USA (WFP USA) Sri Lanka fund. All funds raised will be used exclusively to assist Sri Lankans access nutritional foods.

Aidforlanka.org (TM) is a friend of the WFP USA composed of those who have a love for the island and want to ensure the most vulnerable on the island are able to eat during this time of economic crisis.

The WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organization. Its economies of scale have the capacity to bring food to Sri Lanka at a scale that any other organization is unable to match. Over 3+ million Sri Lankans received assistance last year alone.

Meals for over 1 million children through the national school meal program

Support for the Thriposha program, which provides nutritionally-fortified food to infants and preschoolers.

Nutritional assistance for pregnant and lactating women

Emergency food rations through food, cash or vouchers to 1 million people in need of assistance

Assistance to smallholder farmers to build resilience and improve livelihoods.
